In 2002, Phil earned 2nd place at
the prestigious
National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship
in Winfield,

and Independent newspapers voted Phil Best Male Singer and Best
Folksinger for two years running.

Phil won the Peak Area
Performance and Artists Award (PAPA) in the Popular Music category.

Phil Volan has earned a
reputation among an ever-widening group of fans for his strong
fingerstyle guitar playing and soulful voice, which have developed
and matured in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain region over some
thirty years. He performs often with duo partner Joleen Bell
and as a trio adding fiddle/mandolin player
Jody Adams.
Phil has opened for or played with such
well-known artists as Phil Keaggy, Chuck Pyle, Tuck & Patty, David Bromberg,
Bryan Bowers, Pat Donohue, The Story,
Wind Machine,
Acoustic
Eidolon, Chris Proctor, John Stewart, and John Gorka.
He has extensive experience in the
recording studio with nine CD releases, and session work on many others.
